Description

The 1625 mm meat band saw blade is made from laminated carbon steel with a half-moon tooth (7 mm). It covers compact saws whose band measures exactly 1625 mm and gives a clean cut with no residue on fresh meat. Supplied in a box of four blades.

Band type: MEAT (half-moon). Tooth size: 7 mm (half-moon). Recommended for fresh meat. Dimensions: 1,625 × 16 × 0.40 mm (length × width × thickness).

What a 1625 mm meat blade is used for

The 25 mm that separate it from the 1600 look like an irrelevant difference, but they are not: each saw takes one band length and one only. This size corresponds to a specific group of compact machines, and the reference exists precisely so that whoever owns one does not end up buying a blade they cannot fit.

  • Butcher’s shop: daily slicing of fresh meat.
  • Preparation room: portioning boned pieces.
  • Catering: portioning in the kitchen on a compact saw.
  • Supermarket: fresh counters with a counter-top saw.
  • Delicatessen: cutting medium-sized cured pieces.

Measuring your saw to order the right band

A band runs tensioned between two wheels. If it is shorter than the machine asks for it simply will not reach; if it is longer, the tensioning mechanism does not have enough travel to pull it firm, and a slack band wanders, cuts crooked and can come off the wheels while running.

That is why approximate sizes do not exist here. The safe way to get it right is to lay out the old band and measure its full perimeter, or read the figure from the machine’s rating plate. Manufacturers always state it in millimetres. If you are unsure, tell us the model and we will confirm which length it takes.

What the supply includes

Box of four 1625 mm band saw blades for cutting meat.

The same length is available in a version for bone.

Frequently asked questions

Which band do I need: meat, bone or frozen?

It depends on what you cut and on your saw’s linear speed (it is in the manual; if you do not know it, call us on +34 967 219 649 with the make and model). The three versions, in this length:

  • MEAT (half-moon): 7 mm (half-moon) tooth. Recommended for fresh meat. Dimensions: 1,625 × 16 × 0.40 mm (length × width × thickness). (this blade)
  • BONE (4 TPI): 6.35 mm (4 teeth per inch) tooth. A very balanced option for bone-in meat and for improving the look of the cut. Especially suited to machines with a linear speed below 20 m/s. Dimensions: 1,625 × 16 × 0.50 mm (length × width × thickness). See the 1,625 mm bone band.
  • FROZEN (3 TPI): 8.46 mm (3 teeth per inch) tooth. Recommended for frozen product: a more aggressive cut and high production volume. Works especially well on machines with a linear speed above 20 m/s. Dimensions: 1,625 × 16 × 0.50 mm (length × width × thickness). Not in our range at 1,625 mm: see other lengths in Saw Blades.

Will a 1600 mm blade do if my machine takes 1625?

No. You would be 25 mm short and the band would not close over the wheels. Blade lengths are exact and cannot be substituted by the neighbouring size, however small the gap looks on paper.

How do I measure the band on my saw?

Lay the old band out and measure its full perimeter. If you no longer have it, the size is usually printed on the machine’s rating plate or given in its manual, always in millimetres.

How long does a meat blade last?

It depends on hours of cutting and on the product. Fresh meat wears the tooth far less than bone does, so a band used only for meat lasts a good while. The sign that it is spent is always the same: you have to push the piece for it to feed.

Can I cut frozen product with a meat blade?

It is not the right choice. Frozen product needs a specific blade with a tooth prepared for hard material. Forcing a meat band through frozen meat exhausts it very quickly and raises the risk of it breaking mid-cut.

What should I do with the used band?

Dispose of it as scrap metal, never with general waste. A used band keeps enough edge to cause a serious cut, so coil it and secure it before putting it out.

How many blades come in a box, and how should I store spares?

Four blades, folded to take up less space and travel protected. Store them in their box, somewhere dry and with nothing heavy on top: moisture rusts carbon steel and crushing deforms the blade. When unfolding them, wear gloves and leave space around you, because the blade springs back into shape suddenly.
