Description
The stainless steel chain mail glove with a 19 cm cuff protects hand and forearm against cuts. It is held in place by adjustable latex straps and is manufactured. Made in Germany.
What a chain mail glove with a cuff is used for
This is the long version of the chain mail glove: on top of the hand, it covers 19 cm of forearm. That extension matters wherever the arm enters the risk zone — large primals, long cutting strokes, line work or stations close to powered knives — because a cut that lands above the wrist is exactly the one a short glove will not stop.
- Cutting rooms: handling large primals with a knife.
- Slaughterhouses: line work with the arm inside the cutting zone.
- Meat processing: workstations next to powered knives.
- Fish processing: filleting and trimming bulky product.
- Butchery: deboning large cuts.

How far up the arm the protection needs to go
Cuff length is not a matter of habit; it depends on where the arm sits in relation to the blade. If the cut is made in front of the hand and the product is small, a five-finger glove is enough. If the arm travels with the product, if the cutting strokes are long, or if there are powered knives nearby, the protection has to reach above the wrist — and that is what the 19 cm cuff is for.
The adjustable latex straps are the other critical point: a cuff that shifts leaves a gap exactly where it should be protecting, and it snags. As personal protective equipment, the glove is placed on the market and carries the CE marking.

Frequently asked questions
When is a cuff worth it over a short glove?
When the forearm sits in the possible path of the blade: large primals you have to hold against the body, long cutting strokes, or work close to powered knives. For detail work on small product, the five-finger glove gives more freedom of movement.
Which arm does it go on?
The arm that does not hold the knife, same as the short glove. That is the arm gripping the product, and the one left exposed when the blade slips away from the cut.
How should it be adjusted?
With the latex straps, tightened until the cuff stops moving but without restricting circulation. A loose cuff leaves a gap at the wrist — precisely the area you are trying to cover — and it can catch on the product.
Can it be washed?
Yes, with hot water and detergent, rinsing thoroughly between the rings and drying it completely before storage. Check the condition of the latex straps at the same time, since they are the part that degrades first.
When should it be replaced?
As soon as broken rings, open areas or damaged straps appear. Mail with a broken point stops protecting right there, and it cannot be repaired — it is replaced.
