Description

The neoprene apron is made from polyester fabric coated with acrylic-nitrile. It is waterproof and resistant to grease, oils and solvents, it has cross-over back straps, and it measures 1.10 m long by 0.75 m wide.

What a waterproof neoprene apron is used for

Frequently asked questions

Does a neoprene apron protect against cuts?

No. It is a barrier against liquids, grease and staining, not cut-resistant equipment. If the risk at the workstation is cutting — deboning, knife work or sawing — the right equipment is a stainless steel mesh apron, which can be worn over this one.

How do you clean a neoprene apron?

With water and the site’s usual detergent, hung up and rinsed on both faces. Because it is waterproof and does not absorb, it cleans down on the spot and dries quickly, which is what lets you have it ready for the next shift.

Can it go in an industrial washing machine?

The material is designed for direct cleaning with water and detergent rather than for an industrial wash cycle. For textile workwear that has to be washed at high temperature, use fabrics built for industrial laundering; this apron is sanitised in place.

What length should I choose?

At 1.10 m it covers from the chest to below the knee on most builds, which is what you want at a cutting table. If the work is done seated or at low benches, check that the skirt does not get in the way of movement.

Can it touch the food directly?

It is protective clothing for the worker, not a material intended for direct food contact. Its role in the hygiene plan is to stop street or work clothing coming into contact with product, and to stay clean throughout the shift.
