It comes assembled and ready: there is no need to pair platform and indicator separately or check whether the combination can be verified. It is the direct option when the scale is going to be used for selling by weight and you want approved equipment from day one.

Legal metrology and periodic verification

The TMG is valid for legal metrology: its load cell has an OIML R-60 class C3 test certificate and the indicator is approved for 6,000 divisions OIML class III and IV, with CE certification. This is the condition for the set to be used when the weight determines the amount of a transaction.

In Spain, that use is regulated by Metrology Law 32/2014 and Royal Decree 244/2016, which require the instrument to be verified before being put into service, the periodic verification every two years to be renewed by an authorised Control Body and re-verification after a repair or broken seal. We handle that verification as a service.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use the TMG scale to sell by weight?

Yes, that is the use it is designed for: the set is valid for legal metrology, with an OIML R-60 C3 load cell and indicator approved for 6,000 divisions class III and IV. Before you start using it, it must be verified, and that verification is renewed every two years by an authorised Control Body.

What is the advantage of buying the complete set?

Platform and indicator arrive paired and with approval sorted out. When combining components separately you have to check that the pair can be verified and adjust parameters that are not always obvious. With a closed set that work is already done at source.

Why a red LED display and not LCD?

LEDs emit their own light and can be read clearly from several metres away and in poorly lit environments, without depending on room lighting. At a counter it has another advantage: the customer sees the figure clearly from the other side, which brings transparency to the transaction.

What is the 1/10 verification division function?

It shows the weight for a few seconds with ten times more resolution than the legal reading. It is used for internal checks and adjustments, not for transactions: the valid figure in a sale is always the one corresponding to the instrument’s verification division.

What is the difference between automatic and manual accumulation?

In manual mode, the operator decides which weighings are added by pressing a key. In automatic mode, the unit adds each stable weighing to the total without intervention. The first gives control; the second speeds up long series, such as chained weighing of tubs in a cutting room.

Can the display be mounted on the wall?

Yes, the tilting wall bracket is included. It allows the GI400 to be fixed to the wall and the display angled towards the usual reading point, keeping the work surface clear and protecting the electronics from knocks and splashes.
