Description

The A70 counting scale is the most complete model in the range: stainless steel pan, ABS housing, more than 9,999 PLUs with alphabetical search, management of more than 1,000 users with different roles and export of reports to Excel via USB stick. It includes two RS232 outputs, two USB ports and a 6 V / 4 Ah battery with 30 hours of intensive use.

What it is for

A counting scale converts weight into units: you weigh a sample, the unit works out the piece weight and from then on shows how many pieces are on the pan. The A70 takes that idea into the field of production control, because it stores items, identifies the operator and keeps an exportable record of what has been weighed.

Functions: piece counting, target weight, checkweigher, percentage weighing, preset tare, gross/net, zeroing, limits with configurable audible and visual signal, and manual accumulation, on loading and on unloading.

Approval and metrological verification

The A70 is geared to production control, counting and stocktaking, internal uses for which mandatory metrological verification does not apply. Its calibration is external, which allows the adjustment to be checked with test weights as part of a quality control plan.

If the scale is going to be used to determine the amount of a sale, the Spanish Metrology Law 32/2014 and Royal Decree 244/2016 require an approved and verified instrument, with periodic verification every two years by an authorised Control Body. And if the unit issues a ticket that must be valid as a simplified invoice, that document must include the data required by Royal Decree 1619/2012: number, date, tax ID and address of the issuer, description, tax rate and amount. We offer commissioning and programming of the scale as a service: setting up items and PLUs, folder structure, creating users and roles, defining limits and target weights, designing label and ticket formats and configuring the RS232 outputs and the Excel export. We also carry out calibration and periodic servicing.

Frequently asked questions

How does the A70 scale count pieces?

A known sample is placed on the pan, the scale calculates the piece weight and from then on converts any weight into a number of units. The more uniform the pieces and the larger the sample, the more reliable the count. The piece weight can be saved in a PLU for reuse without repeating the sampling.

How many items can it store?

More than 9,999 PLUs, which can also be grouped into folders and located with an alphabetical search. That capacity turns the scale into a small catalogue of items: the operator selects the item and the unit directly applies its piece weight, tare and limits.

Can reports be generated of what has been weighed?

Yes. The A70 exports reports to a PC in Excel format (*.csv) via a USB stick, without the need to install additional software. It is the most direct way to take the record of counts and stocktakes to a spreadsheet. It also has two RS232 outputs with PC and printer format.

What is user management for?

It lets you register more than 1,000 users with different levels and roles, so that each operator only accesses what they are entitled to and operations are linked to whoever performs them. It is useful in facilities with several shifts and helps maintain internal traceability of counts.

What is the percentage weighing function?

It shows the weight of the load as a percentage of a previously set reference value, rather than in units of mass. It is used in quality control to check at a glance how far a sample deviates from the standard, without having to do the calculation separately.

How long does the battery last and where can it work?

The internal rechargeable 6 V, 4 Ah battery is rated at 30 hours of intensive use, and the adapter accepts 100 to 240 Vac. The operating temperature is 0 °C to 40 °C in single range and 5 °C to 35 °C in multi-range, so it is designed for indoor rooms, bakeries and warehouses, not for cold rooms.
