The DSC counting scale is the option in the range with the largest digits: 24 mm, spread over three individual 5-digit displays for total weight, piece weight and number of pieces. It has a 290 x 230 mm stainless steel pan on an ABS housing, with IP44 protection and a resolution of 30,000 internal divisions.

What it is for

The practical difference of the DSC lies in readability: a digit height of 24 mm compared with the usual 20 mm means the reading can be seen at a glance from the working position, without leaning over the unit. This is appreciated at a station where many counts are carried out one after another.

Approval and metrological verification

The DSC is intended for internal control of stock and processes. In that scenario mandatory metrological verification does not apply; it is advisable to set up periodic checks with test weights to ensure that the calculated piece weight remains correct.

If the scale is used to determine the amount of a transaction, it falls within the scope of the Spanish Metrology Law 32/2014 and Royal Decree 244/2016, which require an approved instrument, verified before being put into service and with periodic verification every two years carried out by an authorised Control Body. Frequently asked questions

Why do 24 mm digits matter?

Because the operator at a counting station looks at the display dozens of times an hour. A taller digit can be read from further away and at a worse angle, which reduces fatigue and reading errors. The DSC is the model in the range that gives most priority to this aspect, with 24 mm compared with the usual 20 mm.

What is the benefit of three separate displays?

You can see total weight, piece weight and number of pieces at the same time without switching modes. This way the operator checks at a glance whether the piece weight applied is correct, which is the most common reason for a count to be off.

What is overload protection?

It is a mechanical stop that prevents the load cell from deforming if a weight greater than the permitted capacity is placed on the pan. It extends the life of the unit in environments where someone may carelessly rest a heavy box on it, something common in warehouses and preparation areas.

What is the limits function for?

It lets you set a target value and alerts you when the weighing or count reaches it or goes outside the margin. Applied to counting, it avoids having to watch the display constantly while filling a box: the alert indicates when the planned number of pieces has been reached.

Can it work without being plugged in?

Yes. It has an internal rechargeable battery, so it can be moved between stations or used in an area without a nearby socket. For fixed use it is powered from the 230 Vac mains. The permitted operating temperature is 0 °C to 40 °C, so it is intended for indoor rooms and warehouses.

What size is the pan and what fits on it?

The pan is stainless steel and measures 290 x 230 mm, a size designed for small boxes, tubs and trays of auxiliary material. If you need to place larger containers, the BCD model allows connection to an auxiliary platform and works in dual-scale mode.
