Ozone is a molecule composed of 3 oxygen atoms; because of its structure, ozone is a highly oxidizing molecule, which gives it the ability to break down double bond molecules.

The ozone disinfector gets ozone artificially generated by high voltage electric discharges (2,000 volts) on the oxygen molecules in the air.
