Description
Sliding clean room door: high-performance hygienic access for clean installations
The Sliding clean room door is the access solution for clean room applications where the type of traffic or the characteristics of the space make sliding opening preferable to a hinged door. As it slides without sweeping, it does not create air turbulence that could disperse particles in the clean room, and its concealed guide system eliminates the dust traps of conventional rail systems.
Technical specifications
- Type: clean room sliding door with concealed or sealed guide system
- Material: AISI 316L stainless steel or anodised aluminium
- Sealed guide system that does not generate particles or collect dust
- Food-grade silicone perimeter seal for tightness
- Smooth panel leaf with no gaps or exposed screws
- Motorisation with speed control for smooth opening (no turbulence)
- Can be integrated with clean room access control and HVAC systems
Advantages
✔ No sweep: does not create air turbulence that affects the room classification
✔ Sealed guide system that does not generate particles
✔ Maximum cleanability of the entire door and surround surface
✔ Smooth motorised opening to minimise the impact on clean air dynamics
✔ Integration with clean room management systems (HVAC, access control, alarms)
Applications
Pharmaceutical clean rooms, grade A to grade C; aseptic production areas in the food industry; packaging rooms for dietary and clinical nutrition products; medical device manufacturing facilities; ISO 5 to ISO 7 classified laboratories.
Standards and compliance
Complies with ISO 14644 and the GMP requirements of EMA and FDA guidelines for pharmaceutical installations. Materials conform to Regulation (EC) 1935/2004. The installation must be integrated with the clean room’s airflow study (CFD) so as not to disturb its ISO classification.
FAQs
Is a sliding door better than a hinged door in a clean room?
It depends on the room design. A sliding door does not create the sudden air movement that a hinged door produces when opened quickly. However, a hinged door with perimeter sealing can be more airtight. The choice depends on the room’s ISO class, the designed airflow dynamics and the frequency of passage. For ISO class 5 or higher, the airflow study is decisive in the choice.
