Description

The Tecnotrip EVT-28 vacuum packing machine is a benchtop chamber machine with a 916 x 432 x 180 mm chamber and two 20 m3/h pumps, built to pack long pieces, salmon, cured loin, chorizo and salami, without needing a floor-standing machine or a three-phase supply: it runs on 220 V single phase.

What this machine is used for

It answers the classic problem of the small production room: pieces of 70 or 80 cm that will not fit a normal benchtop machine, but an output that does not justify a 300 kg floor-standing unit. The EVT-28 fills that gap with 916 mm of chamber on a worktop and a single-phase connection.

  • Charcuterie: chorizo, salami and cured loin packed whole.
  • Fishmongers and smokehouses: salmon fillets and long fish pieces.
  • Artisan production rooms: daily output with no three-phase installation.
  • Butchery: long primal cuts and batches of medium pouches.
  • Delicatessens and online sales: making up orders with careful presentation.

A chamber built for daily cleaning, and packing under gas

The manual lid with stabilising springs and the stainless steel chamber are designed to make daily cleaning quick, which is what Regulation (EC) No 852/2004 requires of any equipment in contact with food: smooth, washable surfaces with no corners where residue can build up. Within the HACCP plan, cleaning the chamber and checking the seal are usually documented controls.

Sensor-controlled gas injection allows modified atmosphere packing (MAP) with the authorised food gases: nitrogen (E-941) as an inert filler gas, carbon dioxide (E-290) for its bacteriostatic effect and oxygen (E-948) where the colour of fresh meat is to be kept. The pouches, as the material in contact with food, must comply with Regulation (EC) No 1935/2004 and Regulation (EU) No 10/2011, and packs intended for the final consumer carry the particulars of Regulation (EU) No 1169/2011, the date of minimum durability or use-by date among them.

What the supply includes

  • EVT-28 benchtop machine with stainless steel base and chamber.
  • Vacuum chamber of 916 x 432 x 180 mm.
  • Two 20 m3/h vacuum pumps, in the chosen make (BUSCH or DVP).
  • Sealing bar configuration chosen from the two available.
  • Digital processor with 30 storable programmes and sensor gas injection.
  • Single-phase connection at 220 V.

Pouches, the gas cylinder and its regulator are ordered separately.

Frequently asked questions

Why two pumps instead of one?

Because a chamber 916 mm long holds too much volume for a single small pump. Fitting two of 20 m3/h adds capacity without a large motor that would require three phase. That is what keeps a long-chamber machine running on 220 V single phase.

Which sealing bar configuration should I choose?

Two 420 mm short bars let you seal two rows of medium pouches per cycle. The combination of one 830 mm long bar plus a 420 mm short one is meant for long pieces in a single pouch. The choice follows what you pack routinely, not what you pack occasionally.

Does it need a special electrical supply?

No. It runs on 220 V single phase with 1.5 kW total, within what an ordinary industrial socket takes. That is its main advantage over the floor-standing chamber machines in the range, which need a three-phase 220/380 V supply.

Are the pumps inside the chamber a maintenance problem?

They sit inside and are deliberately positioned to give access to the service points. The processor also has a periodic pump maintenance reminder that tells you when the oil is due, without anyone having to keep count of running hours.

What is progressive vacuum and when is it used?

It is a function that slows air extraction in the first phase of the cycle. It is used with delicate products or with liquids: an abrupt vacuum can deform the piece or make the liquid boil at low pressure. On the EVT-28 it is adjustable, so it is set per programme according to the product.

Will an 80 cm piece fit?

The chamber is 916 mm long, so an 80 cm piece goes in with room to spare, counting also the pouch length needed for the open end to reach the sealing bar. For that use the configuration with the 830 mm long bar is the one to have.
