Description
Vacuum pouches 250 x 300 mm are the first genuinely wide format in the range: 25 x 30 cm, in 90 micron gauge and packs of 100. They are intended for whole slicing trays, bulky pieces and large batches that would sit cramped in any of the 200 mm formats.
What these pouches are used for
The 250 mm width changes the type of work: instead of packing one portion, you pack a whole tray of sliced product or a piece with real volume. This is the size that appears when a business moves from packing for the customer at the counter to packing for stock or for delivery.
- Butchery with production room: complete slicing trays.
- Cutting room: wide boned cuts.
- Contract catering: batches of prepared product for the chiller.
- Cheese dairies: whole medium-format pieces.
- Distribution: making up orders in batches.

Batch packing changes what the plan has to record

Frequently asked questions
Will a slicing tray fit?
At 250 mm wide it takes standard counter trays. Bear in mind that under vacuum the tray is under pressure: use progressive vacuum, or if the tray presentation is the point, consider a tray sealer instead of a chamber machine.
Do I need a large machine for it?
The pouch has to lie flat inside the chamber with the open end on the bar. At 300 mm deep it fits most machines, but the 250 mm width can be tight on short sealing bars, so that is the dimension to check.
What does it add over the 220 x 300 mm?
Three more centimetres of width, which become clearance for bulky pieces or room to place two units side by side. If your product sits comfortably in the 220, there is no reason to go up: it would mean paying for more film per pack.
Can I pack product with liquid in it?
Yes, but carefully. Under vacuum liquids boil at low pressure and can reach the sealing area, ruining the closure. Machines with sensor-controlled vacuum let you stop the cycle before that point is reached.
How much stock should I hold?
It depends on consumption, but a sensible rule is to cover at least the replenishment lead time plus a margin. Running out of your main size forces you to improvise with others, and that wastes film on every pack.
