Description
Vacuum pouches 180 x 300 mm are a highly versatile mid-range format: 18 x 30 cm, in 90 micron gauge and packs of 100. The size takes thick-calibre cured sausage and family meat portions alike, which is why it is one of the most repeated measurements in butcheries that pack their own product.
What these pouches are used for
The 300 mm depth takes elongated pieces that will not go into a 250 mm pouch, and the 180 mm width accepts thick sausage calibres or several steaks side by side. That combination makes it a general-purpose size, the kind worth keeping in stock permanently.
- Butchery: family trays of steaks and prepared cuts.
- Charcuterie: thick-calibre chorizo and cured sausage.
- Production room: marinades and prepared items in double or family portions.
- Cheese counter: medium pieces and half wheels.
- Catering: portioning for chilled storage and service.

In butcheries and production rooms, packing usually appears in that plan with three routine controls: product temperature at the moment of packing, cleanliness of the sealing area, and verification of the vacuum a few hours later.
What the supply includes

Also supplied in full boxes of ten packs.
Frequently asked questions
Is this a good size to start with?
Yes. If you are only going to hold two or three sizes, a mid-range one like 180 x 300 mm covers a large share of everyday butchery product. You then add a small size for portions and a large one for primal cuts.
How much product does it take?
As a guide, around half a kilo to a kilo depending on how dense the product is. Weight matters less than making sure the piece lies flat inside the pouch with a couple of centimetres left clear at the open end for the seal.
Can it be used with gas injection?
Yes. If your machine has gas injection, this pouch takes modified atmosphere packing with the authorised food gases: nitrogen (E-941), carbon dioxide (E-290) and oxygen (E-948), in whatever mix the product calls for.
What does it mean if the film creases under vacuum?
Some conforming to the shape of the product is normal; the problem is creases reaching the sealing area. If that happens often it usually means the pouch is too large for the piece, and dropping a size will fix it.
Is there a right way to store the pouches?
Somewhere clean, dry and out of direct light, kept in their original packaging until use. Left loose on a shelf in the production room they pick up dust and airborne fat, and both of those go on to interfere with sealing.
Other pouch sizes
- Vacuum pouches 150 x 300 mm: same depth, 3 cm less width, for thin cured sausage.
- Vacuum pouches 200 x 300 mm: same depth with 2 cm more width, the most universal size.
- Vacuum pouches 180 x 250 mm: same width, shorter, for compact pieces.
- Vacuum pouches 250 x 300 mm: the step up to a wide format for trays of sliced steak.
