Description

Vacuum pouches 350 x 400 mm are among the widest formats in the range: 35 x 40 cm, in 90 micron gauge and packs of 100. The 35 cm opening takes genuinely bulky pieces and large batches that will not fit any smaller size.

When width is the limiting factor, whether that is a thick piece, a block or several units side by side, the jump to 350 mm solves what no other adjustment can. It is a format for industry and cold stores rather than the retail counter, and it requires a machine with a long sealing bar.

Frequently asked questions

Which machine takes a 350 mm opening?

Only those with a sealing bar of that length or more, normally floor-standing chamber machines or large-chamber models. If the bar is shorter, part of the closure is left unwelded and the pack will not hold its vacuum at all.

Is this an industrial format?

Essentially yes. It makes no sense on a retail counter, where it means a disproportionate amount of film for everyday product. Its natural place is the cutting room, the central kitchen or the cold store.

Will it hold heavy batches?

Coextruded film has good mechanical strength, but it is best not to fill the pouch to its limit: the fuller the pack, the more tension the film carries and the easier it is for an edge to puncture it during handling.

Is there a heavy-duty alternative?

In reinforced gauge the range carries the 350 x 550 mm size, longer than this one. For bone-in product or sharp edges in a wide format, that is the reference to consider.

How should it be placed in the chamber?

Flat and centred, with the open end resting on the bar and no folds. With wide pouches it is easy for one side to end up tucked under the product and pull a crease through into the sealing area.
