VACUUM POUCHES 300×350 MM 90 MICRON (PACK OF 100)

Description
Vacuum pouches 300 x 350 mm open the large-format range: 30 x 35 cm, in 90 micron gauge and packs of 100. The 30 cm of width takes bulky pieces and grouped batches that would sit cramped in any of the 250 mm formats.
What these pouches are used for
This is the size you arrive at when width, not length, is the limiting dimension: a thick piece, a block of product, or several units placed side by side. The 350 mm depth is enough for most of that product without paying for a pouch half a metre deep.
- Cutting room: wide pieces and boned blocks.
- Meat industry: grouped batches for distribution.
- Central kitchens and catering: large portions of prepared food.
- Cheese dairies: whole large-format pieces.
- Store room: grouping product for chilled stock.

The rules, and why large packs have to go in cold
The pouch is a material intended to come into contact with food, so Regulation (EC) No 1935/2004 applies, setting the general principles, together with Regulation (EU) No 10/2011, specific to plastic materials and articles, with its migration limits and its requirement for a declaration of compliance.
Within the HACCP plan required by Regulation (EC) No 852/2004, large-format packing adds one practical consideration: a big pouch takes longer to cool down once it is closed, so the product has to be at temperature before it is packed, not afterwards.

Frequently asked questions
What length of sealing bar does it need?
At least 300 mm, to cover the whole open end of the pouch. If the bar is shorter, part of the closure is left unwelded and the pack loses its vacuum. That is a machine limitation and there is no way to compensate for it.
Is a wide pouch better than a long one?
It depends on the shape of the product. For thick pieces, or for grouping several units, width is what counts. For elongated pieces, depth. Choosing wrong means wasting film in one dimension and running short in the other.
Can I put more than one piece in a pouch?
Yes, that is common when grouping for distribution. Keep the pieces in a single layer so they do not sit on top of each other, so the film closes properly and no air pockets are left between them.
Does pack size affect how long product keeps?
Not directly: what preserves the product is the absence of oxygen and the cold, not the size of the pack. What does matter is that opening a large pouch exposes all of its contents, so the pack should be sized to expected consumption.
Is it available in another gauge?
Reinforced gauge is stocked in 200 x 300 mm and 350 x 550 mm. If you need more thickness at an intermediate size, which alternative in the range fits best depends on the product being packed.
Other pouch sizes
- Vacuum pouches 250 x 350 mm: same depth, 5 cm less width.
- Vacuum pouches 300 x 400 mm: same width with 5 cm more depth.
- Vacuum pouches 350 x 400 mm: the next step up in both dimensions.
- Vacuum pouches 300 x 450 mm: same width with much more depth.
