Description

The 1750 mm meat band saw blade is made from laminated carbon steel with a special pearled tooth rated for double life. It matches saws taking a 1750 mm band and gives a clean cut with no residue on fresh meat. Supplied in a box of four blades.

What a 1750 mm meat blade is used for

This size closes out the compact and small-workshop bracket. These are machines used every day in a butcher’s shop, where the saw gets switched on several times through the day and the band quietly accumulates hours that nobody is counting.

  • Butcher’s shop: slicing and portioning fresh meat.
  • Preparation room: portioning boned pieces.
  • Delicatessen: cutting medium-sized cured products.
  • Supermarket: fresh sections cutting their own product.
  • Catering: preparing portions in the kitchen.

Tracking how many bands you get through

Few shops record how many bands they use in a year, and it is a figure worth knowing. Consumption that suddenly rises almost never means the bands have got worse: usually it means the machine has drifted out of adjustment, with worn guides, misaligned wheels or excessive tension, or that the wrong version of blade is being fitted for the job.

Keeping an eye on it is the cheapest diagnostic you have. A jump in consumable use is, nearly always, the first symptom that the machine needs attention, and adjusting a set of guides costs a great deal less than carrying on at twice the band consumption.

Frequently asked questions

How many bands should I be using in a year?

There is no standard figure: it depends on hours of cutting, on the material and on the condition of the machine. What is useful is not the absolute number but the trend: if you suddenly use twice what you did last season, something has changed.

Can I use a worn band for less demanding work?

It is not a good idea. A band with broken or heavily worn teeth is fatigued and can break, whatever material you are cutting. Once its working life is over, the safe thing is to take it off.

Does band sharpness affect how the product looks?

Considerably. A clean cut leaves a smooth face and the product holds up better in the cabinet; a frayed cut encourages weeping and looks worse on the counter.

What should I do if the band comes off the wheels?

Stop immediately and check tension, alignment and guides before refitting it. A band coming off during a cut is a serious fault and should not be allowed to recur: have the machine looked at properly.

Can I fit the band myself?

Yes, following the manual and with the machine isolated. What matters is respecting the tooth direction and tensioning to the manufacturer’s figure. If you are unsure, have the first fitting done for you and watch how it is set up.
