Description

The BR12 display is a multifunction weight indicator with checkweigher and audible alarm, compact high-strength ABS housing and backlit LCD display with 6 digits of 22 mm. It supports up to four 350-ohm load cells, works in kg, g, lb or oz and can be mounted on a bench, wall or column.

What it is for

It is the indicator that turns a platform into a control scale: as well as showing the weight, it compares each weighing with a target value and warns with an audible alarm when it goes outside the margin. This makes it possible to work without looking at the display, listening rather than watching.

Approval and metrological verification

An indicator is not a weighing instrument on its own: legal suitability always applies to the installed assembly, made up of the platform, load cells and display. That is why changing the indicator on a verified scale means the verification of the assembly must be repeated.

In Spain, when the weight determines the amount of a commercial transaction, Metrology Law 32/2014 and Royal Decree 244/2016 require an approved instrument, verified before being put into service and subject to periodic verification every two years by an authorised Control Body. For internal control —filling, dosing, in-process weight verification— that obligation does not apply. Tell us the intended use and we will confirm whether the BR12 fits or whether an approved display such as the GI400 is advisable.

We offer connection of the indicator to the platform, programming —working units, checkweigher target values and margins, preset tare— and commissioning with calibration at the final location as a service, as well as handling verification when the use requires it.

Frequently asked questions

What is the BR12’s checkweigher mode?

It is weight control by comparison: a target value is set with its margin and the indicator warns with an audible alarm when the weighing falls outside that range. It is used to fill containers to a fixed weight or to separate non-compliant product, without having to read the figure on each operation.

What does supporting four 350-ohm load cells mean?

It indicates how much current the display can supply to the sensors connected in parallel. With four 350-ohm load cells it can drive a complete floor platform; with fewer cells, bench or single load cell platforms. It is the figure that determines which scale can be built with it.

What is preset tare for?

It allows the known weight of a container —a box, a tub, a standard tray— to be entered in advance without needing to place it on the platform. It greatly speeds up work when the same container is always used and avoids having to empty it to tare it.

What units can it work in?

Kilograms, grams, pounds and ounces. Grams are practical for dosing and fill control; kilograms for general weighing; and pounds and ounces make it easier to document shipments to markets that work with the imperial system.

Where can the display be installed?

It can be mounted on a bench, wall or column, so it adapts to the workstation rather than dictating it. In transit areas, wall or column mounting is advisable, as it keeps the work surface clear and protects the unit from knocks.

What is automatic external calibration?

It is the adjustment of the display by applying known test weights on the platform, guided by the unit itself. It must be done at the final location, because the reading depends on local gravity and on how the scale is seated. It is part of our commissioning.
