Description

The Optima Knight T scale is the T variant of the series: a single load cell bench scale with a weight-tare indicator with 40 mm LED display, stainless steel pan on a painted steel tubular structure and IP65 aluminium load cell. It works in grams or kilograms, with 40-hour battery and RS232 output to PC.

What it is for

It handles workstation weighing when the reading has to be seen effortlessly: the 40 mm LED digits can be read from a distance and in low light, because they emit their own light instead of depending on room lighting. The display is separated from the platform by 1.2 metres of cable, so it can be placed wherever suits.

Approval and metrological verification

Using a scale to determine the amount of a sale is subject in Spain to State metrological control, as regulated by Metrology Law 32/2014 and Royal Decree 244/2016. That regime requires the instrument to be approved, verified before being put into service and subject to periodic verification every two years by an authorised Control Body.

For internal control —dosing in the bakery, checking packages, preparing orders or monitoring losses— there is no such obligation. If you need a set suitable for selling by weight, tell us when requesting a quote and we will propose the right configuration.

Frequently asked questions

What is the advantage of an LED display over an LCD?

LEDs emit their own light, so they can be read clearly in poorly lit buildings, in cold rooms and against the light, situations in which an LCD loses contrast. With a digit height of 40 mm, the figure is also readable from several metres away without approaching the display.

Can it work in grams?

Yes. The Optima Knight T supports grams and kilograms. Grams are the practical unit in bakeries and for dosing ingredients, while kilograms are used for receiving goods and preparing orders. The change is made from the keyboard.

Where is the display placed?

The cable between platform and display is 1,200 mm long, which allows it to be separated from the weighing area and placed where it will not receive splashes or knocks. If you need more distance, ask us before ordering: extending a load cell signal yourself usually leads to unstable readings.

What protection does it have against water?

The load cell is IP65, dust-tight and resistant to low-pressure water jets, and the indicator is IP54 with a waterproof keyboard. It is suitable for normal workstation cleaning, but not for systematic pressure washing of the display itself.

Does it switch off by itself?

Yes. Automatic sleep is programmed between 1 and 99 minutes of inactivity and puts the unit into standby, which extends the charge of the 6 V, 4 Ah battery. With that battery, the manufacturer declares 40 hours of operation, enough for several days without connecting to the mains.

How does it differ from the Optima Knight?

Both share the same platform with stainless pan, IP65 aluminium load cell, weight-tare indicator and 40 mm LED display. The Optima Knight data sheet also details its set of functions —weight control, piece counting, taring and zero adjustment—. Ask us which suits your work better.
