Description
Vacuum pouches 200 x 300 mm are the most universal size in the range: 20 x 30 cm, in 90 micron gauge and packs of 100. They handle practically all medium-sized product, from a stack of slices to a small primal cut or a batch of prepared items.
What these pouches are used for
The 300 mm depth is what makes the difference. It packs everything the 250 mm size does but with more room to work, and it also takes elongated pieces or two units in a row. This is the size to choose when the product varies a lot from one day to the next and you would rather not depend on several formats.
- Butchery: small primal cuts and batches of steak.
- Charcuterie: whole medium-calibre sausage and large slice stacks.
- Production room: prepared items, marinades and portioned products.
- Contract catering: portioning for chilled storage.
- Logistics and dispatch: making up mixed orders.

Vacuum, modified atmosphere and which gases are allowed
This pouch takes both straight vacuum packing and modified atmosphere packing (MAP), provided the machine has gas injection. The authorised food gases are nitrogen (E-941), inert and used as a filler; carbon dioxide (E-290), which has a bacteriostatic effect; and oxygen (E-948), which keeps the red colour in fresh meat.
What the supply includes
One pack of 100 vacuum pouches, 200 x 300 mm, 90 micron gauge.
Also supplied in full boxes of ten packs.
Frequently asked questions
Why pick this size rather than the 200 x 250 mm?
For the extra five centimetres of depth, which give room for elongated pieces, for two units in a row, or simply for working with more clearance at the sealing bar. If your product is always compact, the 250 mm size works out cheaper per pack.
Does it take modified atmosphere packing?
Yes, as long as the machine has a gas injection system installed. The pouch is the same one; what changes is the machine cycle, which replaces part of the extracted air with whichever gas mix suits the product.
Is it suitable for freezing?
Vacuum prevents the freezer burn caused by air trapped in the pack, so it is a sound basis for freezing.
How long does the vacuum hold?
With a sound seal and no punctures, the vacuum holds for the whole shelf life of the product. A gradual loss after a few days almost always points to a sealing defect or a puncture caused by the product itself.
Can I use it for bone-in product?
With care. Ninety micron film has good mechanical strength, but a bone or a sharp edge can puncture it. For that kind of cut, protect the sharp area or move up to a heavier gauge such as 150 micron.
Other pouch sizes
- Vacuum pouches 200 x 250 mm: same width, 5 cm less depth, cheaper per unit.

- Heavy-duty vacuum pouches 150 micron 200 x 300 mm: the same size in reinforced gauge, for bone-in product.
- Vacuum pouches 250 x 300 mm: same depth with 5 cm more width.
