Description

The 2330 mm meat band saw blade is made from laminated carbon steel with a half-moon tooth (7 mm). It matches saws taking a 2330 mm band, already in the cutting-room bracket, and gives a clean cut with no residue on fresh meat. Supplied in a box of four blades.

Band type: MEAT (half-moon). Tooth size: 7 mm (half-moon). Recommended for fresh meat. Dimensions: 2,330 × 16 × 0.40 mm (length × width × thickness).

What a 2330 mm meat blade is used for

Above 2300 mm you are talking about machines able to pass carcasses and large-volume pieces. This is another of the lengths available in all three versions; the meat one goes on for work on boned product, where the finish of the cut is the main criterion.

  • Cutting room: portioning large boned pieces.
  • Meat industry: production-line cutting.
  • Abattoirs: preparing pieces after breaking down.
  • Central kitchen: portions at high volume.
  • Industrial delicatessen: large-format cured products.

Cutting-room saws are a different scale of machine

Saws running bands above 2300 mm are industrial equipment: more power, more cutting height and, as a consequence, more energy stored in the blade while it is working.

The scale of maintenance changes too. What is a ten-minute check on a compact saw becomes a scheduled intervention on a cutting-room machine: done with the equipment stopped, taking longer, and best planned outside production hours. Treat these machines with the same discipline as any other critical plant.

What the supply includes

Box of four 2330 mm band saw blades for cutting meat.

This length is also available in a bone version and in a frozen version.

Frequently asked questions

Which band do I need: meat, bone or frozen?

It depends on what you cut and on your saw’s linear speed (it is in the manual; if you do not know it, call us on +34 967 219 649 with the make and model). The three versions, in this length:

  • MEAT (half-moon): 7 mm (half-moon) tooth. Recommended for fresh meat. Dimensions: 2,330 × 16 × 0.40 mm (length × width × thickness). (this blade)
  • BONE (4 TPI): 6.35 mm (4 teeth per inch) tooth. A very balanced option for bone-in meat and for improving the look of the cut. Especially suited to machines with a linear speed below 20 m/s. Dimensions: 2,330 × 16 × 0.50 mm (length × width × thickness). See the 2,330 mm bone band.
  • FROZEN (3 TPI): 8.46 mm (3 teeth per inch) tooth. Recommended for frozen product: a more aggressive cut and high production volume. Works especially well on machines with a linear speed above 20 m/s. Dimensions: 2,330 × 16 × 0.50 mm (length × width × thickness). See the 2,330 mm frozen band.

What makes a cutting-room saw different from a workshop one?

Power, cutting height and build robustness. They take pieces a workshop machine cannot pass and are designed to work for many hours at a stretch rather than in short runs.

Do they need special installation?

They usually require a three-phase supply and a location with enough room to handle large pieces around them. The manufacturer sets this out in the machine manual.

Is the maintenance very different?

Not in content, but in scale and planning: it is done with the machine stopped, takes longer and should be scheduled. The points are the same: guides, wheels, tension, transmission and safety devices.

Can I use the same bands as on a workshop saw?

No: the length has to match what the manufacturer specifies, and 2330 mm belongs to this type of machine. What is common is the logic of the versions: meat, bone or frozen according to the material.

Is it better to have two machines instead of one large one?

It depends on the workflow. Two machines let you work in parallel and avoid depending on a single unit, but they double the maintenance and the floor space.

How do I know what blade length my saw needs?

The number in the product name (1600, 1820, 2330…) is the blade length in millimetres, and it must match exactly the length specified by your saw’s manufacturer on the rating plate or in the manual. If you have no documentation, measure the old blade laid out along its full circumference. Bernad® can help you confirm the length your machine takes.

How many blades come in a box, and how should I store spares?

Four blades, folded to take up less space and travel protected. Store them in their box, somewhere dry and with nothing heavy on top: moisture rusts carbon steel and crushing deforms the blade. When unfolding them, wear gloves and leave space around you, because the blade springs back into shape suddenly.
