Description

The TMS 60 kg platform scale with a 45 x 35 cm deck is an industrial column scale with a stainless steel pan and column, an IP65 aluminium load cell and a 25 mm display. Its electronics take up to 4 load cells of 350 ohm or 8 of 700 ohm, so it can later drive larger platforms. An intermediate range for bakeries and handling rooms.

What the TMS 60 kg is used for

60 kg on a 45 x 35 cm pan covers the middle of the daily work in food production: handling cases, stacked trays, batches of cuts, small sacks and anything one person carries. It is the capacity that stays in almost every preparation room, once 30 kg runs short and 150 kg gives away resolution for reach nobody uses.

The rectangular pan suits long loads: trays, whole cuts and pieces that lie along the deck rather than sitting square on it. The 649 mm column raises the indicator to eye level, and at a station where you weigh piece by piece for hours, reading standing instead of stooping changes the ergonomics of the job entirely. The indicator sits in an IP54 ABS housing on an ABS bracket, and the platform to indicator cable is 1,200 mm, up to 1,370 mm depending on model, which leaves room to put the display where it actually helps.

Expandable electronics: up to 8 load cells on the same indicator

This is the feature that defines the TMS series and the one almost nobody explains. The indicator takes up to 4 load cells of 350 ohm each, or 8 cells of 700 ohm. On a bench scale with a single cell that sounds irrelevant, but it means the same electronics could later drive a four-cell platform for pallets or a large-surface structure.

For a business expecting to grow, that compatibility saves throwing the indicator away when the need changes: you replace the platform and reuse the display, once the new assembly has been calibrated.

The important caveat is that verification and adjustment always apply to the platform, cells and indicator as one assembly, never to the parts separately. So a change of platform means recalibrating, and if the new scale has to be trade approved, the approval applies to the new assembly too.

What the supply includes

  • TMS scale of 60 kg with 45 x 35 cm stainless steel pan and painted steel tubular structure.
  • 649 mm stainless steel column with painted steel base and ABS bracket.
  • IP65 aluminium load cell and 4 feet adjustable up to 13 mm.
  • Weight and tare indicator, IP54, with 25 mm backlit LCD and waterproof keypad.
  • Mains adaptor and rechargeable 6 V / 1.3 Ah battery, RS232 output.

The ENAC certificate is optional. A P version with a shorter 447 mm column is also available.

Frequently asked questions

What does supporting 4 cells of 350 ohm or 8 of 700 ohm mean?

That the indicator electronics can power and read several cells wired in parallel, not just the single one on this platform. It is what would allow the same display to run a four-cell floor scale or a large-surface structure later on.

Can I upgrade to a bigger platform afterwards?

In principle yes, thanks to that multi-cell capability. The change does require calibrating the new assembly, because verification and adjustment always belong to the platform, cells and indicator together, not to the parts separately. Ask us before buying the new platform.

How does it differ from the TMZ?

Platform and column are equivalent; the indicator changes. The TMS has a 25 mm display, a 1.3 Ah battery, g/kg/lb units and around 100 hours of battery life. The TMZ carries the BR15 indicator with 30 mm digits, a 4 Ah battery and three configurable unit sets.

Why 60 kg rather than 150?

Because capacity should match the real weighing: the lower the capacity, the finer the reading division. 60 kg covers cases, trays and batches one person can lift. If large sacks or bins come in, the 150 or 300 kg versions are the logical choice.

How do I choose the capacity and division for my product?

Take your heaviest load, including its container, and pick the lowest capacity that covers it with a little headroom. Then check that the resulting division is small enough to see the deviation that matters to you. Buying reach you never use costs resolution you do need.

Can the weight be printed?

Yes. The RS232 output sends data formatted for a PC or a printer, so the weighing can be recorded on paper or dropped into a management program. Accumulation and totalising close the total for a batch made up of several weighings.
