Description

The TMS 60 kg platform scale with a square 40 x 40 cm deck is an industrial column scale with a stainless steel pan and column, an IP65 aluminium load cell and a 25 mm LCD indicator. The square pan is what sets it apart: it carries regular-based loads better, crates, tubs, baskets and jerrycans, and takes up less bench depth in a tight station.

Why a square pan, and what happens when the load overhangs

The shape of the pan is not a styling detail: it governs how the load bears on the deck and therefore how reliable the reading is. A square pan fits naturally with the square or near-square containers that dominate food production, standard crates, handling tubs, washing baskets, jerrycans and buckets. The load ends up centred without anyone having to place it a particular way, and the force reaches the cell evenly spread.

On a rectangular pan that same square container leaves spare space on one axis and can sit off-centre when the operator is working fast. It is not a disaster, but in repeated control weighings it introduces variability you did not ask for. And when the load genuinely overhangs the deck, the force reaches the cell badly distributed and the reading can turn unstable or biased. A package sitting fully inside the pan, reasonably centred, is one of the simplest fixes for weighings that do not add up.

The second advantage is space. At 40 cm deep, this scale fits benches and walkways where a 45 or 50 cm platform already means reorganising the station. For a preparation room short of room, it is the one that goes in.

Frequently asked questions

Square pan or rectangular: which suits me?

It depends on the shape of what you weigh. The 40 x 40 cm square fits standard crates, tubs and baskets of regular base, and takes less bench depth. The 45 x 35 cm rectangle works better with long trays and cuts of meat that lie along the deck.

What happens if the load overhangs the pan?

The force reaches the cell unevenly and the reading can become unstable or biased. The package should sit entirely inside the pan and, as far as practical, centred. It is one of the most common causes of weighings that do not tally.

Can I use it for portion control?

Yes. It has weight and piece checking by limits with a visual signal and alarm: set a minimum and a maximum and the equipment warns when a weighing leaves the range. Combined with the hold modes, you can run checks one after another without reading the figure on every piece.

Will it fit a narrow station?

That is exactly its advantage: at 40 cm deep it goes where a 45 or 50 cm platform means moving the bench. Allow for the column as well, and leave the pan clear on all four sides so nothing touches the structure during a weighing.

Can I count pieces with it?

Yes, it has piece counting. You weigh a known quantity so the equipment works out the average unit weight, and from then on it converts any weight into a number of units. Accumulation and totalising close the count for a complete batch.

How does it differ from the TMZ?

The platform is equivalent; the indicator changes. This TMS has a 25 mm display, a 1.3 Ah battery and g/kg/lb units. The TMZ carries the BR15 indicator with 30 mm digits, a 4 Ah battery, three unit sets and three AD converter speeds.
