Description
The TS 60 kg bench scale with a 400 x 300 mm pan puts the highest capacity in the series on the smallest platform. It is the choice for weighing cases, small sacks and loaded tubs at stations with no space to spare, with a stainless steel pan, an IP65 aluminium load cell and a removable weight-and-tare indicator with a three-colour checkweigher.
What it is used for
Doubling the capacity without taking more surface solves a lot of workstations: the load fits the pan because it is dense, not because it is small. Cases of product, 25 kg sacks, jerrycans and full tubs all sit inside 60 kg with no need for a floor platform.
- Butchery: receiving goods and checking delivery notes as the product arrives.
- Cutting rooms: weighing full tubs and tracking yield per batch with accumulation and totalising.
- Warehouse and dispatch: checking packages before loading and making up to target weight with limit warnings.
- Logistics: verifying declared weights at receiving, with data sent to a PC over RS232.
- Food production: dosing ingredients in medium quantities and counting containers by weight.

Dense loads: twice the capacity without more bench space
Capacity and pan size are two separate decisions, and this model is what you get when you push one and not the other. A 25 kg sack of flour, a jerrycan of oil, a tub packed with boned cuts: none of them are large, all of them are heavy. Sizing a scale for those by pan area would mean buying surface you never use.
What you do give up is resolution. For the same number of divisions, 60 kg reads in coarser steps than 30 kg, so if the real work is portions and light pieces the 30 kg version on the same platform is the better instrument. The rule is simple: pick the lowest capacity that comfortably covers your heaviest load including its container, then check the pan takes its base.
The removable indicator helps in exactly this kind of cramped station: the platform stays on the bench and the display goes on a column or the wall, out of the way of the work.

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between the 60 kg and 30 kg TS?
Only the maximum capacity: 60 kg against 30 kg. They share the 400 x 300 mm platform, stainless steel pan, IP65 aluminium cell and weight-and-tare indicator with a 25 mm display. The 30 kg gives a finer reading at low weights; the 60 kg lets you weigh full cases and sacks.
Will it stand up to daily cleaning in a cutting room?
The load cell is IP65 and the pan is stainless steel, both fine for normal cleaning of the station. The indicator, in an ABS housing, is IP54 with a waterproof keypad, so avoid a direct jet on it. Being removable, it can be taken off during the wash.
What are the hold modes for?
They freeze an unstable reading. Moving animal averages the signal from a shifting load; peak value holds the maximum reached; stable fixes the figure once the weighing settles, with the option of auto zero reset when the load is removed. The fourth mode turns the function off.
Does it switch itself off if left on?
Yes. Auto power off is set between 1 and 99 minutes of inactivity, which extends the life of the 1.3 Ah battery. It can also be disabled if the scale works continuously on the mains through its 240 Vac 50/60 Hz adaptor.
Can it print a weight ticket?
The indicator has no built-in printer, but its RS232 output sends data in printer format, so it can be connected to an external ticket printer. If you need printing on board, ask us about an indicator with an integrated printer.
Can it weigh and count at the same time?
Yes. Piece counting derives the unit weight from a sample and then displays the quantity. Combined with limit checking, it lets you pick orders by number of units with a visual signal and alarm when the target count is reached.
Alternatives and related models
- TS scale 30 kg 40 x 30 cm: the same platform with half the capacity, for portions and light pieces where resolution matters more.
- TS scale 30 kg 50 x 40 cm: the large-pan version of the series, for bulky loads of low weight.
- TZ scale 60 kg 50 x 40 cm: the same capacity with a larger platform, a 30 mm display and a 6 V / 4 Ah battery.
- TMS scale 60 kg 40 x 40 cm: a square 40 x 40 cm alternative, useful when the load is wide on both sides.
