Description

The WT platform is a single load cell scale with a load cell holding an OIML R-60 class C3 test certificate and height-adjustable feet. It is offered in two predefined sizes: the 350 x 450 mm P version, with tubular steel structure, and the 420 x 520 mm M version, with die-cast aluminium structure. Both with stainless steel pan and IP65 aluminium load cell.

What it is for

The advantage of the WT is that it comes with the surface already defined: there are no dimensions to configure, you just choose between the two formats according to what you are going to weigh. It is the workstation platform, placed on a table or bench and connected to a nearby display.

• Butcher’s shops: weighing cuts and trays in the back room, with the 350 x 450 mm P version.
• Bakery and production kitchens: checking doughs and mixes in tubs, where the 420 x 520 mm M version offers more support.

Approval and metrological verification

The WT load cell has an OIML R-60 class C3 test certificate, the international reference that attests to the metrological behaviour of a weighing sensor and the number of verification intervals it supports.

However, legal suitability applies to the complete instrument. In Spain, when the weight determines the amount of a commercial transaction, Metrology Law 32/2014 and Royal Decree 244/2016 require the assembly —platform and indicator— to be approved, verified before being put into service and subject to periodic verification every two years by an authorised Control Body. We offer pairing of the platform with the indicator, its programming and commissioning with calibration at the final location as a service, as well as handling verification with a Control Body when the use requires it.

Frequently asked questions

Which size should I choose, P or M?

The P version measures 350 x 450 mm and fits workstations with limited table depth, for normal-sized cuts and trays. The M, at 420 x 520 mm, offers more surface and is advisable when weighing large tubs or boxes that would overhang the small pan.

Why does the M version have a die-cast aluminium structure?

Die-cast aluminium allows a single, rigid piece without welds, which helps keep the pan stable as the surface increases. It also does not rust and is lighter than a tubular steel structure of equivalent dimensions.

What does the load cell’s IP65 protection mean?

IP65 means dust-tightness and resistance to low-pressure water jets. It is suitable for daily work at the counter, bakery and warehouse, with normal cleaning. For rooms with systematic washing, a platform with an IP68 or IP69k load cell is advisable.

Can it be used without an indicator?

No. A weighing platform is only the mechanical element and the sensor; it needs an indicator to convert the load cell signal into a readable weight. That separation is precisely its advantage: you can choose the display according to your needs and change it without replacing the platform.

Why is the pan made of stainless steel?

Because it is the surface that receives the product and the cleaning detergents. Stainless steel does not rust, does not transmit flavours or odours and withstands daily scrubbing without deteriorating, basic requirements at any food industry workstation.

Does it need to be levelled each time it is moved?

Yes. The adjustable feet allow it to be seated at each location, and the levelling should be checked whenever it is moved. A platform that wobbles gives different readings depending on where the load rests on the pan, and that cannot be corrected by software.
