Description

The ZFZ scale is a high-capacity floor platform, with four IP66 nickel-plated steel load cells, 3.5 mm black enamelled checker plate and BR15 indicator with 30 mm backlit LCD display. It includes four metres of cable, RS232 output and an internal battery that reaches 120 hours of battery life.

What it is for

It is designed for weighing large loads in warehouses and industrial buildings, with a complete indicator that goes beyond showing the weight: it manages units, accumulates weighings and sends the data to the PC or printer when the operator decides, not automatically.

Functions: accumulation, totalising, piece counting, zeroing, four hold modes (off, moving animal, peak value, stable and stable with auto-cancel to zero), weight and piece control by limits with visual signal and alarm, three converter speeds, configurable gravity, gross/net and tare.

Approval and metrological verification

The ZFZ is used for internal control: stock, receiving, process control and checking packages. In that use, mandatory periodic metrological verification does not apply, and configurable gravity allows the unit to be adjusted to the area where it is installed.

If the weight is going to determine the amount of a commercial transaction, State metrological control applies as regulated by the Spanish Metrology Law 32/2014 and Royal Decree 244/2016: an approved instrument, verified before being put into service and with periodic verification every two years by an authorised Control Body. For that case, on the same platform, the NFZ is the version valid for legal metrology.

At José Bernad, S.L. we have been installing floor scales in warehouses and the food industry from Albacete for almost 40 years. We are a team of 35 people and work with our own technical service, with technicians on staff and spare parts available, without passing support on to third parties.

We offer assembly of the set, programming of the indicator —working units, local gravity adjustment, weight control limits, converter speed and RS232 output format— and commissioning with calibration at the final location as a service.

Frequently asked questions

What is manual data transmission?

It is sending the weight to the PC or printer when the operator presses the corresponding key, instead of doing so automatically with each weighing. It avoids filling the record with intermediate readings and only records the weighings that matter, which is the usual practice in receiving and dispatch.

Why separate buttons for on and off?

Because they prevent accidental switch-offs. With a single key that toggles on and off, a touch during work can end the session and lose the accumulation in progress. With independent keys that error disappears, something appreciated on a warehouse scale.

How long does the battery last?

The internal rechargeable battery is 6 V and 4 Ah, with a declared life of 120 hours, allowing several days’ work without mains connection. It is recharged with the 240 Vac, 50 Hz AC/DC adapter, and auto power-off is programmed between 1 and 99 minutes of inactivity.

What is configurable gravity for?

Because the weight shown by a scale depends on local gravity, which varies with latitude and altitude. If the unit is adjusted in one place and used in another, the reading deviates. Being able to configure that value allows it to be corrected at commissioning without recalibrating from scratch.

What units does it support?

Three configurable groups: kilograms, tonnes and grams; pounds and pound-ounces; and local units such as Taiwan Jin, CA or VISS. On a high-capacity scale, reading in tonnes is especially practical when handling loads close to maximum capacity.

What is the difference between the ZFZ and the NFZ?

They share the platform: four load cells, 3.5 mm checker plate, IP66 junction box and four metres of cable. The ZFZ has the 30 mm BR15 indicator, RS232 as standard and 120 hours of battery, for internal control. The NFZ is valid for legal metrology, with OIML R-60 C3 load cells and a 40 mm display.
