Description

The 40 x 40 cm INOX/INOX weighing platform is the fully stainless version: frame, pan and load cell all in stainless steel, in 30, 60 or 150 kg capacities. It is the one to choose where the scale is cleaned with water daily, or works with brines, salting and corrosive environments.

Why the load cell is the part that matters

On a weighing platform nearly everyone looks at the pan, and the pan tends to be stainless in any range. The part that genuinely makes the difference is the load cell, because it is the one that fails when the equipment works wet, and the one that turns a breakdown into an expensive repair.

This version carries a stainless steel load cell, not protected aluminium. The difference is chemical resistance rather than finish: stainless steel withstands direct, repeated contact with water, alkaline detergents, chlorinated disinfectants and saline environments, which is exactly what you find in a salting room, a brine chiller, a fish plant or any area hosed down at closing time.

If your premises are cleaned with a cloth and a mop and the equipment takes no direct water, the INOX/ALUM version with a protected aluminium cell does the same job for less. The INOX/INOX earns its place where there is real water.

  • Salting rooms and brines: saline environments that attack aluminium cells.
  • Fish plants: permanent water and ice.
  • Cutting rooms hosed down: daily washing over the equipment.
  • Prepared foods plants: chlorinated disinfectants in the cleaning plan.
  • Refrigerated rooms: the 30 kg range for fine portion control.

Technical specifications

Pan dimensions 40 x 40 cm
Capacities 30, 60 or 150 kg
Frame Stainless steel
Pan Stainless steel
Load cell Stainless steel
EC verification Optional
ENAC certificate Optional

This version adds a range the INOX/ALUM does not have: 30 kg. That matters because a lower capacity comes with a finer reading division, and there are wet processes that need precision at small loads: dosing brine, weighing batches of small pieces, controlling portions in a refrigerated room or recording waste. The 60 and 150 kg cover normal handling and goods-in work: cases, trays, small crates and hand-carried loads on a 40 x 40 cm pan.

Verification covers the assembly, so specify it up front

The platform accepts optional EC verification and an optional ENAC certificate. Verification applies to the assembly of platform, load cell and indicator: it is not a property of the platform on its own, which is why it has to be defined when the equipment is configured rather than afterwards.

Where that assembly is used in commercial transactions it has to be trade approved, carrying the CE marking, the green M marking and its accuracy class, and it is then subject to periodic reverification by an authorised body at the intervals set by the national authority, plus a further verification after any repair or after the seals have been broken.

What the supply includes

  • 40 x 40 cm weighing platform with stainless steel frame and pan.
  • Stainless steel load cell in the chosen capacity: 30, 60 or 150 kg.

The weighing indicator is not included and is ordered separately, as are EC verification and the ENAC certificate.

Frequently asked questions

Will it take a daily hose-down?

That is the scenario it is built for. With frame, pan and load cell all stainless, it withstands direct, repeated contact with water and with the detergents and disinfectants normal in food cleaning. Always follow the manufacturer’s guidance on pressure and temperature.

Is it suitable for a salting room or for brine?

Yes. Saline environments are particularly aggressive to metal components and attack an aluminium cell quickly. A stainless steel load cell is built for that exposure, so it is the configuration to specify for salting, curing, brines and fish plants.

When is the 30 kg version the right one?

When you need a fine reading at small loads in a wet environment: dosing liquid ingredients or brines, portion control in a refrigerated room, weighing batches of pieces or recording waste. The lower the capacity, the smaller the reading division and the more usable resolution.

Can I connect it to the indicator I already have?

Generally yes, provided the indicator is compatible with the signal and the cell configuration. It is worth checking first, because an incorrect pairing means recalibration or simply will not work. Send us the indicator model and we will confirm compatibility.

What is the real difference from the INOX/ALUM version?

The load cell and the range of capacities. The INOX/ALUM carries a protected aluminium cell and offers 60 and 150 kg; the INOX/INOX carries a stainless cell and adds the 30 kg range. Frame and pan are stainless on both.

Does the platform need levelling when installed?

Yes, always. A badly seated platform spreads the load unevenly across the cell and gives unstable or biased readings, however good the scale is. Levelling and calibrating at the point of installation are part of commissioning.
