Description

The DINA DQ-950 DC 12″ + 7″ scale is a dual-body retail scale with a 12.1″ TFT touchscreen for the seller and a TFT customer display available in 7″ or 12.1″. With 10,000 PLUs, 1,000 direct PLU keys and 20 sellers, it is sized for counter sections with a wide range and several people serving. At Bernad® we have our own workshops and after-sales service to respond quickly to any issue.

What this DQ-950 configuration is for

This specific DQ-950 model is the dual-body combination with a 12.1″ seller screen and a customer screen that can be chosen in 7″ or 12.1″. The decision is not aesthetic: the 7″ is more than enough to show weight, price and amount at a conventional counter, while the 12.1″ turns the customer side into a full-size advertising display, with room for product images, offers and promotions readable from a distance.

Programming capacity is what distinguishes this range. Compared with a fixed-keyboard scale, there are 1,000 direct PLU keys over 10,000 items in memory, so practically any section —butcher, delicatessen, fishmonger or offal counter in a supermarket— can have its entire range at one touch, organised in screens by family.

The 60 programmable macros are the other differentiating element. Each macro records a sequence of keystrokes and saves it as a shortcut, so repetitive tasks —changing the batch number at the start of a shift, reopening a ticket, printing the closing report— are done with one button. In establishments with rotating staff this greatly reduces operating errors.

Interconnection of up to 16 scales via Ethernet allows several sections to be set up with a common price list: the price is changed once and propagated. Wi-Fi 802.11n and USB port are available as options.

Verification for selling by weight

In Spain, to use a weighing instrument in commercial transactions selling by weight to the public, the equipment must be verified. Ask us about the verification configuration with which this model is supplied and we will confirm the capacity and division available for your section.

Once in service, regulations require non-automatic weighing instruments to undergo periodic verification every two years, carried out by an authorised Control Body, and additional verification after any repair or broken seal. The legal framework is Metrology Law 32/2014 and Royal Decree 244/2016.

You can find the details on our page about the verification of weighing instruments (in Spanish).

Frequently asked questions

Is the 7″ or 12.1″ customer screen better?

The 7″ is enough to show weight, price and amount at a normal counter. The 12.1″ makes sense when you want to use the customer side as an advertising display: at that size product images and offers are readable from the queue, not just by the person being served.

How many items can be available at a single touch?

This DQ-950 configuration offers 1,000 direct PLU keys over a memory of 10,000 PLUs. As it is a touchscreen, those keys are organised in pages by family, so a complete butcher or delicatessen section can be accessible without typing codes.

What are the 60 macros and what are they for?

A macro is a recorded sequence of keystrokes that is available as a shortcut. With 60 macros you can automate repetitive day-to-day tasks —changing the batch number, reopening a ticket, entering a specific parameter or running a report— and reduce errors when staff rotate.

How many scales can be linked between sections?

Up to 16 scales via Ethernet TCP/IP. This allows the butcher, delicatessen and fish counters of the same establishment to share price lists and texts: the change is made once on the master scale and propagated to the rest, without repeating the work unit by unit.

Are the USB port and Wi-Fi standard?

No: on this model both the USB port and Wi-Fi 802.11n are listed as optional. Standard communication is via Ethernet TCP/IP, which is also how the scales are interconnected with each other and with the management computer.

Can a barcode scanner be connected?

Yes, the DQ-950 supports connection of a barcode scanner. It is useful for serving pre-packed, labelled goods without searching for the item on screen, and for handling loose and pre-packed products in parallel in the same queue.
