Description

The TMH scale is a set made entirely of stainless steel —single load cell platform, column and indicator— with an IP65 aluminium load cell protected by a rubber assembly that raises sealing to IP68. 23 mm LCD display, battery of up to 160 hours and tilting wall bracket included. It is internal-use equipment, not valid for legal metrology.

What it is for

It is designed for rooms where everything is cleaned with water and detergent daily. The fact that the indicator itself is stainless steel, not plastic, is what sets it apart: it is the component that copes worst with moisture and the first to deteriorate on a bakery or cutting room scale.

• Cutting room: weighing tubs and trays in an environment of constant wet cleaning.

Functions: accumulation, totalising, piece counting, zeroing, four hold modes (off, moving animal, peak value, stable and stable with auto-cancel to zero), weight and piece control by limits with visual signal and alarm, gross/net, tare and auto power-off.

Internal use and metrological verification

The TMH data sheet expressly states that it is not valid for legal metrology, even though its load cell has an OIML R-60 C3 test certificate. The two should be distinguished: the certificate attests to the behaviour of the sensor, while legal suitability applies to the complete instrument and requires type approval.

In practice, the TMH can be used without restriction for process control, dosing, counting and stocktaking, and is not subject to the two-yearly periodic verification that Spanish Royal Decree 244/2016 and Metrology Law 32/2014 impose on instruments for regulated use. If the weight is going to determine the amount of a sale, an approved and verified unit must be used; ask us and we will propose the right model.

Frequently asked questions

Why is the indicator made of stainless steel?

Because in a wet room the display is the most vulnerable part: it receives splashes, steam and cleaning products. A stainless housing resists those agents without corroding or losing its finish, whereas a plastic one eventually yellows and cracks at the joints.

What does it mean that the load cell is IP65 but the assembly IP68?

The aluminium load cell starts at an IP65 rating, and a rubber assembly surrounds it to raise sealing to IP68, which adds resistance to continuous immersion. It is a common and effective solution: it protects the scale’s critical point without making the load cell more expensive.

Can I use it to sell by weight?

No. The data sheet declares that it is not valid for legal metrology, so it cannot be used to set the amount of a transaction. For that use an approved and verified instrument is needed; within the range, the TMG with GI400 display is approved for 6,000 divisions OIML class III and IV.

How long does the battery last?

The internal rechargeable battery is 6 V and 1.2 Ah, with about 120 hours of battery life with the backlight on and about 160 hours with it off. It is recharged with the 230-240 Vac, 50 Hz adapter, and auto power-off is programmed between 1 and 99 minutes.

Can the display be placed on the wall?

Yes, the tilting wall bracket is included, so the indicator can be fixed to the wall and angled towards the reading point instead of being on the column. This is common when you want to completely free up the work surface around the platform.

What does weight control by limits offer?

It lets you set a target weight with its margin and warns with a visual signal and alarm when the weighing is below, within or above. In a bakery it is used to always dose the same amount; in dispatch, to fill boxes to a fixed weight without looking at the figure with every movement.
